My story

Steve Oslansky grew up in the town of Oakville, Ontario.  Musical style - World.  Presently focusing on a solo career.

Began playing guitar at the age of fourteen. Early influences include John Fogerty and the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival along
with Carlos Santana " A guitar player I connected with in my teen years was Steve Howe.
Through his playing I learned I could use the whole fret board." Progressing through high school began listening to many styles of music.
" The acoustic guitar style of artist James Taylor who's has a unique way of playing with much feeling is someone I have also listened to along with Joni Mitchell."

At the age of twenty attended Humber College studying jazz from 1982 to 1983. Later played in various bands that included
rock, jazz and folk. At age thirty four turned to solo acoustic guitar. " Another influence that came into my life was the music of
Laura Nyro. Her voice and piano style included changes in tempo that were something I could relate to. World music I guess could
best describe what I do." Elements of flamenco and African music have also found there way into the music. Influences today include the music of Ali Farka Toure.

"In the future I look forward to learn and continue to grow as a musician and to have the opportunity to record and perform in front
of a live audience."
